So you've submitted your R370 application and you then head in and do a R370 SRD status check. You will then see a message reflecting the progress of your 370 application, this is your R370 Sassa grant status being granted by the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa).
Here's the range of R370 application statuses you might see when conducting an SRD status check and what it means:
Declined
Your application was declined for the period you applied for and Sassa will have stated a reason as to why the application was declined.
Approved
'Approved' means that your application for the period you applied for has been approved. You will then need to check the “payday” field on their profile for an indication of when you will receive their payment.
Application Complete
'Application Complete' means that you have completed the reapplication process and after this, you will then be verified every month after that for the grant. This then means that you won't have to apply every month, should your application be approved.
Identity Verification Fixed
If your SRD grant application was rejected but you have no source of income and you appeal, if you are approved, you will see the 'Identity Verification Fixed' Sassa status. This means that your appeal has been accepted and that they have solved the problems that they were having and your identity has been confirmed.
You will then need to submit payment details so that Sassa can process your SRD payment.
Reapplication Pending
This simply means that there was no reapplication that was received for the SRD grant and a 370 application should be submitted using the SRD Sassa website.
Identity Verification Failed
If the applicant receives a Sassa 'Identity Verification Failed' status it means that Sassa found that the applicant’s details did not match with the Department of Home Affairs data.
Incomplete Application Saved
You may see a message that states your Sassa application was saved as incomplete. An incomplete application may make it difficult for you to gain approval for the grant, as some key information may be missing.
Luckily, Sassa allows for applicants to withdraw their application at any point in time, meaning you could re-start the application process and submit a complete application the second time around.
Application Documents Outstanding
Sassa explained that grant applicants who received an ‘application documents outstanding’ Sassa status indicates that the application had been processed but found to be incomplete. Grant applicants are encouraged to await further communication from Sassa with information on the documents they must provide.
Bank Details Pending
Sassa has received your application, but you have not submitted your banking details or indicated your preferred method of payment. In order to resolve this issue and have your application reviewed and updated, you must upload your banking details.
Application Assessed
When you check your Sassa status, and see that it's 'Application Assessed', it means that your application has been captured by a SASSA official and that your application will be processed.
The possible outcome for this stage of application would then be 'Application captured – Waiting for Approval'.
Pending
Sassa has revealed that if you see a "pending" status on your Social Relief of Distress grant application status, it means that your R370 application has not yet been approved.
This is because Sassa is still in the process of scanning your details with third parties such as the Department of Home Affairs database which they will need to verify before you can be approved as an grant beneficiary and receive social grants.
UIF Registered
'UIF registered' means that SASSA found that you are receiving or are eligible for UIF benefits. This then shows that you are receiving other funds or that you are not unemployed, which would mean you don't qualify.
Deceased Record On DHA
Should you receive a ‘Deceased Record On DHA’ status, then this means that you were registered as deceased on the Department of Home Affairs database for the specific months which are assessed in order to determine your eligibility for the grant.
Debtor
Sassa has said that should you see this, it means that you were paid in the last round but when SASSA does audits, you were found to not have been eligible to be receiving the SASSA SRD grant. You will need to pay back those funds before you are considered for the new round of the SASSA R350 grant.
Active
This means that Sassa has received your application and will communicate the outcome of your application in due course.
Self Exclusionary Response Found
After reapplying, it is important to check your SRD grant status. Should it read 'Self Exclusionary Response Found' SRD Grant Status, then this means that you need to submit an appeal.
IRP5 Registered
This means that databases are picking you up as someone who pays tax which means you're receiving an income. You could also be seeing that you receive money through UIF which would then leave you to not qualify for the grant.
Referred
If you have received a 'Referred' status, then your application was randomly selected for internal verification and quality assurance.
Referred SAFPS
'SAFPS’ stands for ‘South African Fraud Prevention Service’ and would mean that when your application was being processed and verified, Sassa found that you have committed fraud in the past and were flagged by the SAFPS.
Sassa does this by taking your ID number and phone number through a Fraud Risk Scoring process upon receiving your application.
Alternative Income Source
This means that you do not qualify for the SRD grant because you are receiving an income of more than R624 per month.
Existing SASSA Grant
Sassa declines applicants after having gone through their database, verifying the information that they have provided them with.
The main requirement that Sassa looks at, is that the fact that you ought not to be receiving money from alternative sources - this is inclusive of other government grants and UIF funds.
NSFAS Registered
This means that Sassa has found out that you are on the NSFAS database and are receiving a bursary as well as a monthly allowance throughout the course of your tertiary studies.
Gov Payroll Registered
‘Gov payroll registered’ means that Sassa discovered that you are employed by a government entity after running your information through the Home Affairs and SARS databases.
Age Out Of Range
The 'age out of range' status implies that the applicant is not between the ages of 18 and 60 years of age.
Suspended
'Suspended' means that you don't qualify for the SRD grant because you have been registered as deceased on the Department of Home Affairs database.
Meanstest
Means testing refers to a process where the income of an applicant (for whom the application was initially declined and upon reconsideration is still declined) will be tested.
Referred Linked Risk Mobile
It means that when SASSA evaluated your SRD grant application, they found that the application received from your phone number is fraudulent.
