The South African Social Security Agency which we know as Sassa has released the Social Relief of Distress SRD grant payment dates for August 2025. These payment dates inform millions of people when they can expect to receive their Sassa SRD grant payment.
SRD Dates For August 2025
SRD grant payments are made during the final week of the month after Sassa completed various verification checks. These verification checks seek to ensure only deserving individuals receive SRD grant payments.
Sassa said approved SRD grant applicants will receive SRD grant payments this week - with payments being made from Wednesday 27th August until Saturday 30 August.
Payments (for clients who are approved for the month of August 2025) will be processed from 27-30 August 2025.
SRD grant beneficiaries are encouraged to complete an SRD Grant Status Check to see if they have been approved for payments in August. Sassa has made it clear that funds will take about 2 to 3 working days to reflect in the grantholder’s bank account after the Sassa SRD payment has been processed.
How To Do Sassa Status Check For R370 Payment Dates
- Visit the official Sassa SRD website.
- Select the "Application Status" section.
- Enter your South African ID number and the phone number used during your application.
- Click "Check Status." You may receive a one-time PIN (OTP) via SMS.
- Enter the OTP to view your application status.
Where To Collect SRD Grant Payments For August 2025
If you have been approved for an SRD grant payment in August 2025, you have two collection options. You can either have your SRD grant paid directly into your bank account or collect the money at a supermarket.
Supermarkets authorised to pay SRD Grants include Pick n Pay, Boxer, Checkers, USave, OK, and Spar.
SRD Grant Value For August
On 1 April 2024 the SRD grant was officially increased by R20, or 5,7%, bring the SRD grant total to R370 per month. This means that for the month of August, SRD grant beneficiaries will receive an SRD grant payment of R370.
Should the government see fit, the implementation of the grant would be extended until March 2027.
