The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened applications for the 2027 academic year, with several changes introduced to improve the funding application process and student experience.

NSFAS funding applications have opened for TVET Students who want to start to study in the third trimester this year. NSFAS funding allows students to focus on their studies will the government bursary scheme covers essential costs associated to tertiary education.
There was good news for 70,000 students still struggling to register for their studies in the second semester. The NSFAS Administrator was happy to focus on some positive news as he announced that the registration had been fast-tracked for eligible students.
