NSFAS

NSFAS funding applications have opened for TVET Students who want to start to study in the third trimester this year. NSFAS funding allows students to focus on their studies will the government bursary scheme covers essential costs associated to tertiary education. 

There was good news for 70,000 students still struggling to register for their studies in the second semester. The NSFAS Administrator was happy to focus on some positive news as he announced that the registration had been fast-tracked for eligible students.

Students across the country have been increasing calls for substantial changes at the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), so are waiting for an expected update this week from the organisation's Administrator. 

TVET College students who still want to start studying this year can do so with the trimester 3 intake. And NSFAS will be opening applications again specifically for this group of students.

Available Bursaries

The Nedbank External Bursary Programme (bursary) aims to fund academically deserving students who do not have the financial means to study fulltime towards a first Undergraduate or Honours qualification at a South African public University or University of Technology.

Vodacom is inviting talented and dedicated students to apply for its Merit Bursary Programme.

This opportunity is aimed at full-time students who are either entering or currently studying towards qualifications in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) is calling for applications for its Film and Television Studies Bursary Programme. This initiative supports the growth of South Africa’s creative industry by funding students pursuing film or television qualifications at accredited local tertiary institutions.

Applications for the Accenture's Education Trust scholarship for 2026 are now open!

The Accenture Education Trust helps students whose family income ranges from R 350 000 - R 1M and NSFAS as well as post-graduate students with a household income of < R300k.
