There are several reasons why your SRD grant application may be rejected, which is all the more reason for you to keep track of your application upon submitting it.

One of them may be that 'Gov Payroll Registered' appears when it has been declined. Here is what you can do about it.

‘Gov payroll registered’ means that Sassa discovered that you are employed by a government entity after running your information through the Home Affairs and SARS databases.

This would also mean that by applying while employed by a government entity, you contravened one of the eligibility requirements, which is that you should not apply for the SRD grant while employed by the government.

However, if your employment circumstances had changed to unemployed during the time of your SRD grant application, then you may contest this by lodging an appeal and this is how you can do it.

How To Appeal For SRD Grant

  1. Go to srd.dsd.gov.za
  2. Enter ID number
  3. Enter telephone number
  4. Lodge appeal

You will then have to wait to receive an SMS that will notify you about the outcome of your appeal.
