Sakinah Samuels

Sakinah is a Writer at Portal Publishing where she writes for The Careers Portal and is passionate about the work she does. With a passion for writing developed at a young age, she is always creating some form of written content at all points in time.

The South African Students Congress has rejected the Minister's proposal of a tuition and accommodation fee increase. SASCO has also responded to other pivotal announcements made by the Minister.

Following Minister Blade Nzimande's briefing on updates in the higher education sector, the South African Union of Students (SAUS) is now demanding that students receive their laptops from NSFAS to finish the 2020 academic year instead of receiving them next year

SASSA has given an update on the lapsing of some of the grants they provide with some lapsing this month. Seeing that it's the beginning of the month, that means that it's the time for beneficiaries to receive their grant money.

Following an announcement made the Cape Peninsula University of Technology concerning NSFAS allowances, students were outraged with some bringing up the word 'protest'. The University then decided that they will fund students' allowances themselves.

Sol Plaatje University has announced that they are now extending their closing date for those wanting to apply for 2021 studies. Apply now before the next closing date comes creeping up on you.
