Admission Requirements

It is important to note that the institutions admission requirements may vary depending on the specific course you wish to pursue. 

Here are some of the False Bay entry requirements:

  • Pre-Vocational Learning Programmes: Minimum Grade 9 Certificate.
  • National Certificate Vocational NC(V): Minimum entrance requirement, Grade 9 or NQF Level 1 equivalent.
  • NATED/Report 191: Engineering Programmes: Minimum entrance requirement, Grade 11 with Mathematics (minimum 50% pass) or Grade 12 with Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy (50%).
  • NATED/Report 191: Business Studies & Utilities Post-Matric Programmes: Minimum entrance requirement, Senior Certificate (Grade 12), or National Senior Certificate (NSC) Grade 12, or National Certificate (Vocational) NC(V) Level 4.
  • Higher Certificate Programmes: Minimum entrance requirement, Grade 12 Certificate with a minimum of 30% English, based on the University points system.

How to apply

Students who want to apply to study at False Bay TVET College can do so by submitting their applications online on the college website following the step-by-step process. 

Students who are unable to apply online can contact the campus they wish to apply at and make an appointment. The campus can then assist the student as they complete the application process. 

When applying online, make sure to follow the step-by-step process to avoid skipping any steps. 

It is important that students who have been accepted, accept the offer letter within five days and follow the instructions in the offer letter.

Students are encouraged to apply for NSFAS as it provides financial relief for low-income households. They provide bursary accommodation as well as private accommodation for students who do not qualify for bursary residence.

All applicants will need to do is supply the necessary documentation such as proof of registration, proof of address and proof that they have an annual household income of less than R350 000.
