False Bay College is a Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college whose mission is to empower their students to become assets to society and have lifelong access to education. 

False Bay College offers National Certificate N4-N6: Human Resources Management courses which students can pursue full-time, part-time or through distance learning at the following campuses: 

  • Khayelitsha
  • Fish Hoek
  • Mitchells Plain

Students who enroll in the Human Resources Management course will be exposed to the four main areas of human resources, namely: the provision of manpower, maintenance and utilisation of staff and staff development. 

The minimum admission requirements are as follows: 

  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12); or
  • National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Grade 12); or
  • National Certificate Vocational [NC(V)] NQF Level 4

Each level of the course consists of four subjects and each level takes six months full-time to complete. Students are awarded a certificate upon completion of a level. 

The following subjects will be completed at different levels: 

  • Entrepreneurship and Business Management
  • Management Communication 
  • Personnel Management 
  • Computer Practice 
  • Introductory Computer Practice 
  • Personnel Training 
  • Labour Relations

The College says that a total of 18 months is needed to complete the theoretical components (N4, N5 and N6). The student must also complete 18 months of practical experience in the work environment (In-service training) in order to qualify for the National N Diploma. 

Once students have obtained their qualification at False Bay College they qualify for the following career opportunities: 

  • Clerk in a Human Resource Department
  • Recruitment Officer
  • Screening and Placement Assistant
  • Labour Relations Assistant
  • Assistant to Training Practitioner
  • Payroll Officer
  • Human Relations Officer
  • Assistant to Human Resources Manager
  • Employment within labour relations
  • Employment within training and development
  • Recruitment Agent

If you are unable to afford the fees to study at False Bay College then you will be pleased to know that the College assists their students with applying for financial aid and students at this College are able to qualify for funding from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).
