The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) have revealed the dates for Sassa payment dates when social grant beneficiaries will receive their grants for the rest of 2023.These Sassa grant payment dates enable beneficiaries to effectively plan for when they will receive their money every month.

The South African Government has made Sassa responsible for the payment of social grants and financial assistance in South Africa under the Social Assistance Act. These grant payments are best made into a bank account by the Social Security Agency. This avoids scenes we often see of many older people waiting at supermarkets to receive their old older persons grant. Sassa falls under the Social Development Department.

Sassa distributes grants in terms of the Social Assistance Act. Under the framework of the act, Sassa oversees the implementation of various social assistance programs. This  includes the distribution of social grants to  vulnerable people living in South Africa.

Sassa Grants and Bank Accounts

It is very efficient and easy for you if your Sassa grant can be paid into your bank account. Remember that the bank account must be in your name as Sassa cannot pay the grant into a bank account that is in someone else's name. It doesn't affect the payment dates of the Sassa grants if they are paid into your bank account instead of you collecting them from a Sassa office.
