Sassa Grant Payments For February Commence

With the new month finally arriving, Sassa has now commenced with grant payments for February. Millions of people are set to receive Sassa grant payments this month.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) pays grants to more than 18 million South Africans every month. Sassa distributed several different permanent grants aimed at assisting financially vulnerable people living in South Africa.

Grants distributed by Sassa include the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grantWar Veterans grantCare Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.

Permanent grant payments usually commence in the first week of the month. While Sassa endeavours to pay grants on consecutive days, in February, this will not be possible. This is due to Sassa not paying grants on weekends or public holidays. 

February Permanent Grant Payment Dates 

  • Older Persons Grant - 2 February 2024 
  • Disability Grants - 5 February 2024 
  • Children's Grants - 6 February 2024

As for the SRD grant, Sassa has clarified that R350 grant payments will take place in the last week of the month due to verification checks needing to be done.

SRD Grant Payment Dates For February 2024

For February 2024, SRD grant payments will be made from 23 February 2024 to 29 February 2024. It typically takes approximately 2-3 working days for the funds to appear in bank accounts after the payment has been processed.

Sassa reminded grant beneficiaries that During the designated payment week, beneficiaries can check their Sassa status on the SRD website to determine the exact date when their Sassa grant payment will be deposited into their bank accounts.

Where To Collect Grants

Grant beneficiaries can collect their grants at ATMs and retail stores such as Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite and Boxer.

Sassa beneficiaries can also choose to have their Sassa grant be paid directly to their bank account.
