The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) has confirmed when Grade 12 learners can collect their matric exam results.
The 2024 National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams concluded on 28 November. A total of 732,448 full-time candidates registered for the 2024 NSC exams with 136 195 part-time candidates registering to sit for various subjects this year.
More than 55,000 qualified markers have been appointed to mark matric exam scripts This will be done at 188 marking centres nationwide.
When 2024 Matric Results Will Be Released In Western Cape
Western Cape MEC for Education David Maynier, has thanked all stakeholders involved in the 2024 matric exams.
The marking of the 2024 matric exams is currently underway, and we thank our officials for all their hard work in making the exams a success.
Maynier confirmed that matric exam results will be announced by Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube on 13 January 2025.
The national results announcement will take place on Monday, 13 January 2025 in Gauteng.
The MEC confirmed that matric candidates in the Western Cape will be able to access their results from Tuesday, 14 January 2025.
Individual results for Western Cape candidates will be available at schools and on the WCED website from 10h00 on Tuesday, 14 January 2025.
Matric exam results were initially set to be released on Thursday, 15 January, with candidates receiving their results on 16 January. However, the WCED says the change in release date was to accommodate the commencement of the 2025 school year.
