The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has issued an urgent appeal to all beneficiaries who are experiencing difficulties withdrawing their funds from ATMs or retail stores using their gold cards.
Sassa pays more than 18 million people permanent social grant payments every month. Permanent grants distributed by Sassa include the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.
The agency distributes permanent grants during the first week of each month. While many grant beneficiaries were paid their October 2024 grants last week, some are experiencing challenges accessing their money.

Sassa advised benefits that should they experience challenges using their gold cards they must immediately contact Postbank on 0800 53 54 55. Postbank's customer service representatives will assist and work towards promptly resolving the issue.
Sassa would like to advise all beneficiaries who are using the gold card and are unable to withdraw their money either from ATMs or retail stores to contact Postbank on 0800 53 54 55 for assistance and resolution.
