The Independent Examinations Board (IEB) has confirmed when the matric results for the class of 2024 will be released. This is critical information for the thousands of IEB learners in South Africa.
The 2024 IEB matric exams began on Tuesday, 10 September 2024, with the Life Orientation CAT Part B paper. The majority of the exams took place during October and November.
IEB Matric exams will conclude on Thursday, 28 November 2024, with the Agricultural Management Practice paper.
As for the number of candidates, approximately 13,250 learners were registered to write the 2024 IEB National Senior Certificate exams.
When IEB Matric Exams Results Will Be Released
As has been tradition, IEB candidates will receive their results one day earlier than their counterparts in public schools. This means that IEB learners will receive their results on 13 January 2025.
This announcement marks a significant milestone for IEB learners, who have worked tirelessly throughout the academic year.
How To Check Your IEB Matric Results
Firstly, the IEB will forward the final Matric results to schools and they will then pass on the results to their candidates.
You can then view it in the following ways:
- Pupils will be able to find their results online using the IEB website when they are released.
- Results can also be accessed via SMS, using the following options:
- If the IEB has been provided with your cellphone number, your results will automatically be sent to the number provided.
- You can register by SMS by sending an SMS to 35135.
- The SMS should read: Results (your examination number) (your DOB yyyymmdd)
- You will then receive a message notifying you that the registration has been
successful and you will receive your results when they are released.
As for your certificate/statement of results that is released by UMALUSI, they will be sent to your school in April after the Matric results release.
