The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a funding scheme that aims to provide funding to poor students who wish to continue their academic journeys but cant afford to do so.
Across South Africa, there are 26 universities, University of Zululand being one of them. NSFAS covers all 26 of those universities.
So the answer is yes, NSFAS does cover Unizulu courses.
So if you are a student who is accepted at Unizulu and you require funding, NSFAS has got you covered.
There is however a criteria that needs to be met in order to receive funding.
NSFAS requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- All SASSA grant recipients qualifies for funding
- Applicants combined household income must be more than R350 000 per annum
- Person with disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
- Must applying or attending one of South Africa's public universities
