The University of South Africa (Unisa) is a highly sought-after university with many prospective students hoping to gain admission every year. Many individuals wanting to further their studies might be wondering about Unisa application dates.
When will 2025 Unisa applications open?
Unisa have announced that applications for the 2025 academic year will open on Wednesday 21st August 2024. This is for all undergraduate courses. The application period will close on the 11th October 2024. Applications for Honours Degrees and postgraduate diplomas are also open during this time period.
Applications for masters and doctoral degrees will open on the 2nd September and close on the 22nd November 2024.

Unisa's application model is open and continuous, which means that applications remain open throughout the year.
It is however important to remember that, "Admission to a qualification is not automatic. It will depend on whether you comply with the admission requirements and if space is available".

What Documents Are Needed For Your Unisa Application?
Once the student has deduced that they have met all the necessary requirements to enrol as a Unisa student, they will need to supply the following documents:
- Copy of school qualifications, i.e. a diploma, National Senior Certificate (NSC), etc.
- Copy of official tertiary academic records (if applicable)
- Copy of ID or passport depending on whether you are a South African citizen or international student
- Copy of marriage certificate or divorce certificate (if applicable)
- Application fee of R140
