UP Online Application

The University of Pretoria (UP) Tuks is one of Africa’s top universities and the largest contact university in South Africa. University late applications for the 2025 academic year are now open at UP.

University of Pretoria Online Application Closing Dates

The university has said, "Application for admission to undergraduate study programmes for both South African and international citizens close on specific dates in the year preceding the year of study." Here are the UP application closing dates:

  • Faculty of Veterinary Science: 31 May
  • All other faculties: 30 June

How To Apply - Your UP Application

  1. Go to the university website
  2. Click on 'study' and then 'apply'
  3. Click on 'Apply now'
  4. Click on 'I want to' and select 'start new application'
  5. Select 'OK'
  6. Fill in the required information
  7. Click back to the 'I want to' drop down list
  8. Select 'log in to continue'
  9. Fill in your login details
  10. Confirm your email address and change your password
  11. Click on the '>' button
  12. Fill in the required information
  13. Submit the following documents in PDF form
    • copy of your ID or passport
    • grade 11 report or your final score certificate 
    • proof of payment of application fee (R300)
  14. Review your application
  15. If you are sure you are done with your application, click on the 'I have completed the application ...' button
  16. Click on 'return'

How To Track Your University of Pretoria Online Application

  1. Go to the university website
  2. Click on 'study' and then 'apply'
  3. Click on 'Application status'
  4. Click on the link they direct you to to check your status
  5. Enter your log in details
  6. You will then be able to view your UP application status

Once the application has been submitted, you will receive communication from the university, explaining how to access your Student Centre through the UP Student Portal, enabling you to track your progress and status, as well as other communications and possible outstanding items.
