Many students and prospective students are now wondering when they'll be able to submit their applications to the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). As we await the NSFAS 2024 applications, let's see what we know so far.

Messages have been circling social media, stating that 2024 NSFAS applications are open. However, NSFAS has made it clear that these posts are just rumours and that NSFAS applications are not open yet.

Applicants are encouraged to check official NSFAS platforms for the 2024 application opening date. Students are urged to be aware of fake websites and social media platforms advising students to share their personal details and apply for funding via links.

During a media briefing on 18 October, the NSFAS Chairperson, Ernest Khosa, said:

We will soon be announcing the opening of NSFAS application process for the 2024 academic year.
