Clicks is offering an opportunity for a Pharmacist Intern to gain practical experience in a Clicks Pharmacy while developing professional skills in pharmaceutical care, patient care and customer service.

Pharmacist Internship At Clicks

The Pharmacist Intern will provide pharmaceutical care and dispensary services in accordance with Clicks' operating procedures, Good Pharmacy Practice requirements and applicable legislation.

Working under the guidance of the Pharmacy Manager, who serves as the Responsible Pharmacist, the intern will support the day-to-day operation of the pharmacy while gaining practical experience in dispensing, patient counselling, stock management and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

The Pharmacist Intern will be responsible for:

  • Providing pharmaceutical care and accurately dispensing medication within the legal requirements set by the South African Pharmacy Council.
  • Providing patients and customers with appropriate pharmaceutical advice and counselling.
  • Supporting effective stock management and maintaining a clean and organised pharmacy.
  • Completing administrative duties and following pharmacy procedures.
  • Supporting customer service initiatives and creating a positive customer experience.
  • Working with the clinic and healthcare aisle to provide customers with comprehensive healthcare solutions.
  • Promoting Clicks' values and supporting the company's health and beauty offering.

Skills And Knowledge

Applicants should have:

  • Knowledge of South African Pharmacy Council requirements and relevant legislation.
  • An understanding of ethical pharmacy practice and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of patient care, professional counselling and customer service.
  • An understanding of stock, cost, risk and compliance management.
  • Good planning, organising and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • The ability to follow instructions and procedures and work effectively as part of a team.
  • The ability to work under pressure and adapt to challenges.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a registered Pharmacist Intern with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
  • Have completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) qualification.
  • Be a South African citizen.
