The University of South Africa (Unisa) is now undertaking their October/November end-of-year exams.
Unisa has confirmed that October/November 2024 exam results will be made available to students in December 2024.
Final examination results will be released as they become available on myUnisa.
Students can find their Unisa exam results by logging into myUnisa or the Unisa student mobile app. "No results will be given telephonically by academic or administrative members of staff," said Unisa.
The university has clarified that students who have not returned books borrowed from the University Library and still need to settle any outstanding fees will not receive their Unisa exam results.
Supplementary Exams
Should a student need to write a supplementary exam, they will find this information and instructions to write with their Unisa exam results.
A supplementary examination by virtue of a candidate's performance in the examination may be granted.
Re-marking
Students who obtain between 35% and 49% or between 68% and 74% in their Unisa exams can apply for a Unisa exam re-mark. Applications for October/November 2024 re-marks will close on 31 January 2025.
Re-mark applications must be done online via myUnisa, with a fee needing to be paid for the re-mark. To apply, students will need to log into myUnisa and navigate to the Examination Results tool in the administrative section.
Unisa exam results for the re-mark will then be made available in March and that will be the student's final result, "even if it is lower than the original mark," Unisa explains.
Remarking fees will be refunded if a student who failed passes or if a student is given a distinction after re-marking.

What Unisa Exam Codes Mean
When accessing their Unisa results, students will be provided with codes. These codes indicate whether a student was successful or not in the examinations as well as other circumstances which requires students to take action.
- 1: Pass - Achieved with a final mark of 50% and above.
- 2: Pass with Distinction - Obtained with a final mark of 75% and above.
- 3: Failed - Received a final mark below 50%, requiring re-registration for the module.
- 5: Absent from Examination - Issued when submissions are not received within the allowed period, requiring re-registration for the module.
- 6: Supplementary Examination - Granted under certain circumstances, allowing students a second examination opportunity without re-registration.
- 7/99: Results Outstanding - Marks are pending, and students can follow up from December 14, 2023.
- 8: Not Admitted to an Examination - Issued if examination admission criteria are not met, necessitating re-registration.
- 24: Absent – Supplementary - Given when the proctoring tool is not used in the first examination opportunity; re-registration is required for the second opportunity.
- 28: Script Rejected - Outcome for students not using the proctoring tool in their second opportunity; re-registration is necessary.
