The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) confirmed the November Sassa grant payment dates. Some grant beneficiaries have questioned why Sassa grant payments will be later in the second last month of the year.

Each month, Sassa distributes over 18 million permanent grant payments, including the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.

Sassa’s grant payment policy states normally that grant payments are made from the second day of the month. However, the confirmed Sassa grant payment dates for November 2024 indicate that grants will only be paid from the fifth day of November.

Why November 2024 Sassa Grant Payments Are Delayed

Sassa does not pay grants on weekends or public holidays. The second day of November 2024 falls on a weekend.

This requires Sassa to move grant payments to the next available weekday. Sassa indicated that grants will not be paid on Monday, 4 November 2024 but rather from Tuesday, 5 November 2024.

  • Older Persons Grant - 5 November 2024
  • Disability Grants - 6 November 2024
  • Children's Grants - 7 November 2024

There’s no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first payment day. Once the funds are in your account, they will remain available until needed.
