Sassa Payment Dates For March 2024
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed the grant payment dates for the month of March 2024. Grant beneficiaries will be paid in the second week of the third month of the year.
Sassa grants play a pivotal role in providing support to vulnerable individuals and families in South Africa through the distribution of grants from the South African government. Grants assist families to afford basic goods and services.
Grants distributed by Sassa include Older Persons pension grants, Disability grants, War Veterans grants, Care Dependency grants, Foster Child grants, Child Support grants, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.
Payment Status
In March 2024, grant disbursements will begin on Tuesday, 5 March 2024 with the payment of the Older persons grant. This will be followed by the distribution of all other permanent grants on consecutive days.
Sassa Dates For March 2024
While Sassa aims to pay permanent social grants from the second working day of the month, this is not possible in March. This is because Sassa does not pay grants on weekends and public holidays.

When Is Sassa Payment For March 2024?
Grant beneficiaries who require financial assistance can collect their Sassa grants at several different payment points. These payment points include ATMs and retail stores such as Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite and Boxer.

Sassa Grant Increases
March 2024 will be the last month Sassa grant beneficiaries receive the amount of money they have been receiving since October 2024.
Foster Child Grant
Sassa grants will increase on 1 April 2024 and again on 1 October 2024. Finance Minister, Enoch Godongwana, announced the following Sassa grant increases:
- The old age grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant and Care Dependency grant will have an increase of R90 in April and then R10 in October.
- The child support grant will only have one increase of R20 in April.
- The Foster Care grant will only have one increase of R50 in April.
Godongwana unfortunately did not announce any increase for the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant. The SRD grant payment currently stands at the value of R350 per month.
