The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed the grant payment dates for July 2026. There are more than 19 million permanent grant beneficiaries who now know when they will receive their July Sassa grant payments

Permanent grants distributed by Sassa include Older Persons pension grants, Disability grants, War Veterans grants, Care Dependency grants, Foster Child grants, Child Support grants, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.

Sassa will begin July social grant payments on Tuesday, 2nd July 2026 with the distribution of the older persons grants. This will be followed by distributing all other permanent grants on consecutive days.

Sassa Grant Payment Dates For July 2026

  • Older Persons Grant - Thursday 2nd July 2026
  • Disability Grants - Friday 3rd July 2026
  • Children's Grants - Monday 6th July 2026

Where To Collect Your Sassa Grant

Grant beneficiaries can receive their grants directly deposited into their bank accounts. Alternatively, they can collect their grants in cash at various locations, including ATMs and stores like Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, and Boxer.

Sassa reminded beneficiaries that they are not necessarily required to withdraw the money on the exact Sassa grant payment date. This is because the funds will remain available to the beneficiary to use after it was deposited in their bank account by the Social Security agency.

There is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day. Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until needed.

Here’s How Much Sassa Grants Will Be For July

  • Older Persons grant - R2,400
  • Older Persons (75 years and older) - R2,420
  • Disability grant - R2,400
  • War Veterans grant - R2,420

SRD Grant Payment Dates

Approximately nine million people are paid from the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant distributed by Sassa.  However, it's important to note that SRD grants are not paid during the permanent grants payment cycle.

While Sassa has not yet released any SRD grant payment dates for July 2026, grant beneficiaries are usually paid in the final week of the month.
