When Sassa Grants Will Increase For 2025

The Sassa grant increases will be implemented in April 2025. It is unclear if there will be another increase this year. However, some grants are usually increased by a small amount in October annually to account for inflation.

Sassa grant increases will impact approximately 28 million beneficiaries across the country, a figure that, according to Minister Godongwana, underscores the government's unwavering dedication to combating poverty and promoting equality.

The truth is that ours is one of the most comprehensive social safety nets among emerging economies. This reflects our commitment to addressing poverty and inequality while keeping our spending sustainable.

Millions of people receive Sassa grant payments every month. For 2025/26, R284.7 billion will be allocated towards social grants.
