CPUT Blackboard SOS

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) has adopted a Learning Management System (LMS) called CPUT Blackboard also known as Myclassroom which makes it easier for students to attend their online lectures, find lecture notes and submit their assignments.

This e-learning platform can also be used by lecturers at CPUT to upload their courses and course materials as well as to post important communications and events.

Students are able to access all of their academic work on the CPUT Blackboard.

How To Login To CPUT Blackboard

  1. Go to https://myclassroom.cput.ac.za/
  2. Enter your CPUT username
  3. Enter your password
  4. Now click on 'Sign in' in order to access your course content

Students and staff members may also sign in with a third-party account, by clicking the option "Sign in with a third-party account". This option allows students an additional way to access the CPUT Blackboard, by authenticating the student's Office 365 account (cput student email) which is active in the cloud and will allow access when CPUT systems are inactive or unavailable.

If you are a first year CPUT student then you will receive training on how to work with the CPUT Blackboard.

Students can also expect to complete online tests via the Blackboard, as well as make use of the forums tools to interact with their peers.

CPUT staff members and students can also download the CPUT Blackboard mobile app for free, the app is available for both Android and IOS devices.

The lecturers’ app is called ‘Instructor’ while the students’ app is called ‘Blackboard’.

When you first login to the app, type in "Cape Peninsula University of Technology” as your institution. Then enter the same username and password you used for your web login.

Visit CPUT's website for more information on the CPUT Blackboard.
