The Cape Peninsula University of Technology has six faculties and provides 80 undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a wide range of fields. If you would like to attend, you need to first meet their entry requirements which we will give you more information on in this article.

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) was established in 2005 as the result of a merger between Cape Technikon and Peninsula Technikon. CPUT is the only university of technology in the Western Cape, with several campuses and more than 70 programmes.

Here are the entry requirements for students who would like to attend CPUT:

  • Matric
  • You have to meet the individual subject admission requirements for the qualification you are applying for. In addition, you also have to meet the minimum APS scores using the method that applies to the qualification you are applying for.

CPUT offers these 6 Faculties:

  • Applied Sciences
  • Business & Management Sciences
  • Education
  • Engineering
  • Health & Wellness Sciences
  • Informatics & Design

Each of the six faculties requires students to have certain subjects that will amount to an APS score that determines whether they qualify or not for a certain qualification.  

Students who would like to attend the Cape Penisula University of Technology and enrol in any of the above faculties can apply online or manually.

Manual applications are only for students who are non-South African or South Africans with international qualifications. Online applications are for students who are South African citizens and have South African qualifications.
