CPUT Late Applications For 2025 Now Open

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology, which we know as CPUT, has opened their late applications for the 2025 academic year. If you are still looking for a place to study next year, this is your chance.

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) is one of the 26 public universities found in South Africa, offering a range of courses. CPUT 2025 applications have closed but the university has now announced that CPUT late applications are available.

CPUT has annnounced that they would be extending the deadlines for various programmes which still have space available for 2025. "Few programmes where the application closing date has been extended until 13 January 2025," said the University.

There are also programmes available for returning students only which will be available from Tuesday, 07 January 2025 until Friday, 10 January 2025. 

These CPUT late applications  will only be for programmes at the university which have available spaces for more students. Higher Certificate, Diploma, Bachelors, B Ed, Advanced Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma, Honours, Masters and Doctoral studies are available.

How To Apply

Online Application

  1. Choose programmes and special requirements
    • Consult the prospectus to ensure that you meet the minimum requirements and subject requirements for your programme​​​​​​
  2. Gather documents or upload further/outstanding documents
    • Please take note of the following regarding supporting documentation prior to uploading during submission of your application:
      • Minor applicants, not 18 yet at the time of application are required to submit a Minor Application Declaration, click here to download the form.
      • Each document must be scanned, saved and uploaded individually against each uploading Certificate code during your online application submission
      • All documents must be scanned in any of the following file types: tiff, pdf, jpg or gif (MS Excel and MS Word document formats are not recognized)
      • The maximum scanned file size is 2MB each
  3. Submit your application and supporting documents

Applicants must ensure that they complete the application fully in order for the application to be considered by CPUT. Only those applicants who have followed the application processes set out by the university will be considered.

You can apply if:

  • You exhausted only 1 or 2 options out of the maximum of 3 choices for applications submitted during the normal application timelines.
  • You did not apply during the normal application timelines
  • You are transferring from other universities
  • You are a CPUT student who took a gap in their studies and did not apply during the application timeline, and wish to continue with their studies, or
  • You are a  CPUT student who wishes to complete their phasing out programmes.

CPUT has said that unfortunately, no other applications for this category will be possible.

Full Research Master’s and Doctoral Studies remains open until 14 March 2025.
