Unisa Extends 2024 Undergraduate Applications

Prospective students wanting to study at South Africa's largest university in 2024 have been given the opportunity to submit an admissions applications. This comes after the University of South Africa (Unisa) extended 2014 applications.

The University of South Africa (Unisa) has extended their 2024 undergraduate application period. This will allow thousands of prospective students to apply for admission to South Africa’s largest and begin their undergraduate studies during the 2024 academic year.

Unisa revealed that the closing date for 2024 admission applications has been extended to 17 November 2023. This extension provides prospective undergraduate students with additional time to prepare and submit their applications. This also provides individuals who missed the opportunity to apply during the official application period.

This means that prospective students can submit 2024 admission applications for undergraduate qualifications such as Unisa’s Higher Certificate programmes, Advanced Certificate programmes, Diploma programmes, Advanced Diploma programmes and Degree programmes. 

Unisa applications for Honours Degrees And Postgraduate Diplomas have also been extended until 17 November 2023. This gives prospective students around one month to submit their Unisa application. 

Qualifications in the College of Accounting Sciences and the College of Science, Engineering and Technology

Individuals wanting to enrol in programmes within the College of Accounting Sciences and the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology will have an even longer opportunity to submit a Unisa application

Unisa will process applications until 31 January 2024. 

Unisa Masters And Doctoral Qualification Applications 

Unisa has not extended the application period for Masters and Doctoral candidates. Individuals wanting to apply for entry into these postgraduate programmes will still need to apply before the current deadline of 10 November 2023. 

After Submitting Your Unisa Application 

If your application for the 2024 semester 1 academic year is approved, Unisa will reserve a place for the duration and qualification you've applied for. You must accept or decline Unisa’s offer within the designated 10-day timeframe from the date of the offer. 

.You can only accept one offer, which means if you accept an offer for a qualification, whether it's your first or second choice, any other offer will automatically be forfeited. 

Furthermore, you'll be eligible to enrol in the qualification for which you've accepted the offer. You must also make sure that you have paid the application fee.

Should you choose to accept Unisa's offer, you must register for the 2024 academic year's semester 1. 

Failing to do so will require reapplication during the next application period. Prospective students seeking registration at Unisa, who didn't apply during the application period, will need to reapply during the application period. More details can be found at www.unisa.ac.za/apply.
