Students Urged To Upload NSFAS Outstanding Documents 2025

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) opened NSFAS applications on 21 September with a deadline set for 15 December for 2025 NSFAS funding. The financial aid scheme has received a total of 890 599 bursary applications and 17 369 NSFAS applications for 2025.

NSFAS has said that some applicants are yet to complete a very important step in the NSFAS application process. Some applicants have not submitted the documents needed for their application to be finalised. NSFAS said:

Kindly note that some of your applications were submitted with missing or unclear supporting documents, as a result, NSFAS is unable to process and finalise your applications. NSFAS has sent emails and SMS messages to applicants with missing supporting documents,if you are one of those, urgently log onto your myNSFAS account and upload the documents ASAP!!!

NSFAS Documents

NSFAS has said that these documents are outstanding for some NSFAS applicants:

• Consent Form signed by the applicant and their parent/guardian
  • Sassa recipients aren't required to submit the NSFAS consent form
• Declaration Form completed by a principal/social worker for non-Sassa applicants above the age of 18 but below 34
• Orphan/Child Vulnerable Form completed by social worker for applicants below the age of 18
• Dissability Annexure completed by medical professional for applicants living with disabilities

"Submission of these documents will enable NSFAS to finalise funding decisions timeously," explained NSFAS.

Applicants who are required to submit missing documents have been notified by NSFAS to take action. If students have already submitted documents, they then are not required to re-submit them.

How To Submit NSFAS Documents

1. Go to the NSFAS website
2. Click on the myNSFAS tab
3. Enter your myNSFAS login details such as your email address and password to log in
4. Go to the 'upload documents' section
5. If prompted to submit documents, follow the instructions on the screen to access the document upload page
6. Prepare your documents by making sure you have scanned copies or cleared photos of the documents
7. Click on the upload button
8. Select the relevant file
9. Double check all the uploaded files
10. Click Submit
11. Wait for a confirmation message to say that you've successfully uploaded your documents
12. Continue to monitor your NSFAS status

How To Check Your NSFAS Status

1. Go to the NSFAS website
2. Click on the myNSFAS tab
3. Enter your myNSFAS login details such as your email address and password to log in
4. Click on the 'track funding progress' tab

"Students will only receive feedback on their application outcome once all necessary documents and verifications have been concluded," emphasised NSFAS.
