The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed its September 2025 grant payment dates.
Sassa provides social grants to millions of financially vulnerable individuals ensuring that they do not face extreme poverty. These grants include the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.
Sassa Payment Dates For September 2025
- Older Persons Grant - 2 September 2024
- Disability Grants - 3 September 2024
- Children's Grants - 4 September 2024
It's important to note that the Sassa does not pay grants on public holidays or weekends.
This essentially means that if the second day of the month is on a weekend or public holiday, the grant will be paid on the next weekday, as per the payment schedule.
In September, grants will be paid on consecutive days meaning that there won’t be extended delays.
Sassa reminded beneficiaries that they are not obligated to collect their money on the first day. The money will remain in their account until it is needed.
There is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day. Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed.
