The South African Postbank has issued an urgent warning to social grant recipients about a scam involving the replacement of South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) cards.

The message circulating claims that EASY PAY is authorised to replace Sasas Postbank cards. However, Postbank says this is a scam and a misrepresentation.

They clarified that only Postbank has the legal authority to replace Sassa Gold Cards. A formal announcement will be made in the coming week, detailing when and where beneficiaries can collect their new Black Cards.

Ignore it and don’t fall victim to it.  EASY PAY has no legal right to replace SASSA postbank Cards. Only Postbank has the right to replace Sassa Gold Cards and we will announce in the next week where people must come to collect their new Black Cards.

Postbank urges recipients to stay informed through official channels and avoid using unauthorised card replacement offers.

Sassa Black Card

Postbank announced that the new black Mzansi Debit Card will replace the Sassa gold card, previously issued to social grant beneficiaries.

Sassa beneficiaries in Gauteng are encouraged to collect their new Sassa Postbank Black Card.

The initial rollout of the Sassa Postbank Black Card will begin in Gauteng, with card issuance facilitated at select Boxer and Pick n Pay stores across the province.
