July is soon coming to an end and August will soon begin. Sassa beneficiaries need to be aware of their upcoming Sassa dates for collection of their grants.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed when social grant beneficiaries will receive their social grants. Millions of people are set to receive Sassa grant payments in August 2024.

Grants distributed by Sassa include the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.

Sassa grant beneficiaries will need to keep up to date with the payment schedule in order to receive their payment on time.

Older Persons Grant Dates For August

Sassa usually pays permanent social grants in the first week of the month, starting on the second working day of the month. It’s important to remember that Sassa grant payments don't take place on weekends and public holidays.

Sassa grant payments for the Older Persons grant and other linked grants will take place on Friday, 2 August.

Beneficiaries of the Older Persons grant who are under 75 years old will receive R2,180 and Older Persons who are 75 years and older) will receive R2,200.

Where To Collect Older Persons Grant

Sassa beneficiaries can choose to have their Sassa grant be paid directly to their bank account.

Sassa Grant beneficiaries can also collect their Sassa social grants at several payment points. These payment points include ATMs and retail stores such as Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite and Boxer.

Sassa has said that there is no need to rush to withdraw the Sassa money on the first day because once the money is paid, it will stay in your bank account.
