There are more than 25 million people grant beneficiaries living in South Africa. Sassa has revealed when Sassa grant payments will be made in August 2024 and how much.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) provides social grant payments to millions of people living in South Africa. Beneficiaries purchase basic goods and access basic services with their grant payments. 

Sassa distributes more than 18 million permanent grant payments monthly which include the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.

In addition to 18 million permanent grants distributed by Sassa, approximately nine million people receive Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant payments. 

How Much Will Sassa Grant Payments Be In August?

  • Older Persons grant - R2,180
  • Older Persons (75 years and older) - R2,200
  • Disability grant - R2,180
  • War Veterans grant - R2,200
  • Care Dependency grant - R2,180
  • Foster Care grant - R1,180
  • Child Support grant - R530
  • Child Support grant (Top-up) - R530 + R250
  • SRD Grant - R370

August 2024 Sassa Grant Dates

In August 2024, permanent Sassa grants will be distributed from the second day of the month. However, beneficiaries of other grants will have to wait a few more days for their grant payments as Sassa does not pay grants to beneficiaries on weekends. 

Here Are The Sassa Grant dates for August 2024

  • Older Persons Grant - 2 August 2024
  • Disability Grants - 5 August 2024
  • Children's Grants - 6 August 2024

SRD grant payment dates for August 2024 are not yet available, however, the grant is usually paid in the final week of the month.
