Parents and guardians in the North West can now submit school admission applications for 2024. This is for grade 1 and 8 school admissions.

This application period will be open for four months, coming to an end on 30 September. North West MEC for Education, Viola Motsumi, has said:

We ask all parents and legal guardians to take this four months period to register learners for the 2024 academic year. Over the years this has helped us with proper planning in terms of school furniture and ordering of textbooks and I thank parents for their cooperation.

Parents will then receive offers by October for them to decline or accept or will receive non-acceptance letter by 31 October.

How To Apply

To apply, parents have to complete an application form. These application forms for admissions are available in schools and admissions will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Along with the form, certified copy of the child's birth certificate, immunisation card, most recent report card (where applicable), and transfer letter or card from previous school (where applicable) should be submitted. Parents from outside of the country should also submit thelearner’s study Visa or parents work permit, residence permit (or proof of application for non-citizens), asylum seeker permits or certificate granting refugees status for all non-citizens.
