There are solutions available for students who were unable to earn their matric certificate.
Students can apply at a Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college that offer courses without a matric certificate required. A National Certificate (Vocational) (NC(V)) qualification can then be obtained to allow students to hone their skills within their chosen career field.
Additionally, with a NCV qualification, a student will be able to move into a higher education course within the same areas.
The NCV has different levels that include:
- NCV Qualification on NQF Level 2: Equivalent of grade 10.
- NCV Qualification on NQF Level 3: Equivalent of grade 11.
- NCV Qualification on NQF Level 4: Equivalent of grade 12.
However, in order to study at a TVET College without a matric student must:
- Be at least 16 years or older
- have completed grade 9 or have an ABET Level 4 certificate
Here are the courses you can take at a TVET College without having a matric certificate:
- Management Course
