University of Pretoria still has some courses open for late applications for 2026. But act soon before they fill up.

The University of Pretoria has announced that some courses are still able to accommodate some first-year students. There are limited spaces and courses will be closed once they are full.

The following first-year programmes still have limited space:

Food Management (Culinary Sciences)
Ecology
Meteorology
Entomology
BScAgric in Plant Pathology
Geography & Environmental Sciences
BScAgric in Applied Plant & Soil Sciences

Late applications will close on the 30th January 2026. 

UP also has limited space available in selected programmes in the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences for studying this year! There’s still time to secure your spot as a new first-year student and embark on an enriching academic journey, but you must move fast.
 
Apply online for Food Management (Culinary Sciences), Ecology, Meteorology, Entomology, BScAgric in Plant Pathology, Geography and Environmental Sciences, or BScAgric in Applied Plant and Soil Sciences on or before 30 January 2026 and take the first step towards a brighter future. 
 
Space is limited, so apply as soon as possible while applications remain open (only for these programmes).
 
University of Pretoria Welcome Day will be held on Saturday 31st January 2026.

How To Apply

  • To use the Online Application System you will need an email address which you can access regularly, because as soon as you submit your online application, a student number (EMPLID) will be sent to this email address as confirmation of receipt.
  • Once your online application has been processed, you will receive a student number(EMPLID). Receiving a student number (EMPLID) does NOT imply that you have been accepted by the University of Pretoria yet.
