There are a wide-range of qualifications that you may obtain through distance learning, this also includes a qualification in the Engineering.
As part of the admission requirements for these qualifications, mathematics and physical sciences are subjects that are a necessary foundation for a qualification in Engineering.
This can be done through the University of South Africa (Unisa), which has more than 40 000 students who have opted for this mega university.

These qualifications are offered by the university in different qualification levels, from undergraduate to postgraduate levels.
According to the university, all practicals are to be conducted at the Unisa Science campus, in Johannesburg, Gauteng Province.
In a statement, it was also confirmed that this is mandatory to all students and for all the engineering modules that require practical work in the laboratories.
As work-integrated learning is a compulsory component towards the completion of these qualifications, this will be done through a suitable and approved employer by the university, for a minimum of six months.
This will not help in completing the qualification but will expose you to an opportunity of applying learnt knowledge to relevant problem situations in the industry, under the supervision of a seasoned-engineer in the industry.
After graduating from your undergraduate engineering qualification, you will then have the option of furthering your studies in postgraduate studies, working in the industry and you have the liberty of choosing both at the same time.
