There are 50 Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges across the country where students can apply to study and gain skills that they will need to find employment in South Africa.
These institutions offer practical vocational training programmes and technical skills development courses to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to work in a range of fields.

West Coast College Admission Requirements
It is important to note that the institutions admission requirements may vary depending on the specific course you wish to pursue.
Here are some of the West Coast entry requirements:
- NC(V) National Certificate Vocational programmes
Requirements: Grade 9 or equivalent qualification | Duration: Three (3) Years per level of study
- Report 191 Trimester Programmes (N1 – N3)
Requirements: Grade 9 or equivalent qualification | Duration: Four (4) months per level of study
- Report 191 Semester Programmes (N4 – N6)
Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent qualification | Duration: Eighteen (18) Months theory and Eighteen (18) Months practical experience needed to apply for your National Diploma.

West Coast College Bursaries & NSFAS
West Coast TVET College also assist students with applying for bursaries at various institutions. Any full-time or part-time students may apply for these bursaries.
Students are encouraged to apply for NSFAS as it provides financial relief for low-income households. They provide bursary accommodation as well as private accommodation for students who do not qualify for bursary residence.
All applicants will need to do is supply the necessary documentation such as proof of registration, proof of address and proof that they have an annual household income of less than R350 000.
