The National Student Financial Aid Scheme funds students in all public and TVET colleges in South Africa. If you are among those that have successfully applied for funding from this Scheme, it’s important to check your current application status and what it means.

If your application status is unsuccessful and there is no Appeal tab visible on the myNSFAS account, this means that the student cannot appeal the funding decision.

You are only able to appeal when the Appeal Tab is available.

This update was published on the NSFAS official account, to read more, click here.

Another option is that students continue to monitor the myNSFAS portal, to check whether the Appeal tab becomes visible or not.

Should your appeal be approved, then you still need to monitor and wait for the outcome of your appeal.

In order to access your application status:

  1. Login on the myNSFAS student portal here.
  2. Enter your username and password, then click SIGN IN!
  3. Click on Track Funding Progress.

After following these three steps, you’ll be able to see whether you are funded or not.

According to NSFAS, returning student lists have been released for certain students whose decisions have been finalised and students have been encouraged to start checking with institutions.
