As we near the end of the month of June, it's important to know which dates your SASSA grants will be paid. We can help so keep reading to find out SASSA’s payments dates for grants in July 2021.

With June ending soon, you might be itching to know when your SASSA grant for July is going to be paid.

The South African Social Agency (SASSA) released the various payment dates for the month of July 2021, they are as follows:

  • Older Person's Grants 6 July 2021
    • This includes any grants linked to these accounts
  • Disability Grants 7 July 2021
    • This includes any grants linked to these accounts
  • Foster Care Grants 8 July 2021
  • Care Dependency Grants 8 July 2021
  • Child Support Grants 8 July 2021

As for the R350 grant, SASSA has said that there is no set payment date. Should you qualify for the grant, you will be paid in time. SASSA has not announced when payments for the grant will come to an end as SASSA has experienced payment backlogs.

It's important to remember that applications for the grant closed on 30 April while appeals closed on 31 May. SASSA has reassured those who have appealed that should their appeal be successful, they will receive payments. These payments will be made for the month of when you initially applied.

18 million people will receive social grants in the current financial year leading to SASSA spending R195 billion on grants. 95% of the Department of Social Development's (DSD) budget goes towards social grants.

SASSA was created in 2005 to distribute social grants on behalf of the Department of Social Development. This was done to improve the standards of living in the country and are given to people who are vulnerable to poverty and/or in need of support from the government.

SASSA distributes the Care Dependency Grant, Child Support Grant, Disability Grant, Foster Child Grant, Old Persons Grant, War Veteran's Grant, Grant-In-Aid and the ever popular Social Relief Of Distress Grant.
