There are only a few days left to apply for SASSA's Special Relief of Distress grant which sees beneficiaries get R350 per month. Applicants are encouraged to contact SASSA offices if they have not yet received their social grant payments.

Applications for SASSA's R350 grant will close on 30 April 2021. This means that this month is the last month to send in an application to benefit from this SASSA Special Relief of Distress (SRD) grant.

SASSA has made it clear that you do not need to re-apply for the grant if you have already done so. Here's how to apply.

How To Apply For SASSA's R350 Grant

If you've already applied and have been approved, you should then just await payment. Applicants are encouraged to contact SASSA offices if they have not yet received their social grant payments.

SASSA applicants are urged to regularly check their application status in the event of no payment.

The agency has emphasised that there is no fixed date for the payment of the grant. Applicants will be paid as long as they qualify.

You will receive payments from the month in which you applied.

The President declared a National State of Disaster as a result of the Covid-19 global pandemic. In this regard he introduced a special Covid 19 Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD) of R350 per month to be paid to individuals who are currently unemployed, do not receive any form of income, social grant or UIF payment etc.
