The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) allows clients to apply for reconsideration of the Covid-19 SRD grant if their application is declined. Clients may apply for reconsideration via the Sassa website.

In order to qualify for reconsideration, clients need to apply within 30 days of receiving the declined status.

Applicants are advised to resolve the issue of their application being declined to ensure a positive outcome of their reconsideration application.

Sassa sends an SMS that states the reason for the application being declined, which gives the applicant an idea of which department to visit or contact to resolve the matter.

How To Apply For Reconsideration?

  1. Click here to visit the Sassa website.
  2. Scroll down to “Application for Reconsideration”.
  3. Select the yellow bar.
  4. Fill in the required information.
