They need to be citizens, residents, or special permit holders, but they shouldn't receive other government support in the form of UIF benefits or NSFAS bursaries. How to Apply for the SRD Grant
To apply for the September SRD grant, follow these steps:

- Choose your citizenship status at the bottom of the webpage. Select "South African ID Holder" or "Asylum Seeker/Special Permit Holder."
- Locate the yellow bar labelled "Click here to apply online" under the relevant section ("How do I apply for this SRD Grant" or "Asylum Seekers and Special Permit Holders").
- Enter your mobile number and click "Send SMS." Then, input the one-time pin (OTP) sent by Sassa to your phone for verification.
- Once verified, follow the prompts on the website to complete your application.
Where To Collect SRD Grant Payments For September 2024
If you have been approved for an SRD grant payment in September 2024, you have two collection options. You can either have your SRD grant paid directly into your bank account or collect the money at a supermarket.
Supermarkets authorised to pay SRD Grants include Pick n Pay, Boxer, Checkers, USave, Shoprite, OK, and Spar.
