U-Belong is a South African non-profit organization dedicated to youth empowerment, education, and community development. The organization was founded with the purpose of helping young people unlock their potential and become active, responsible members of society.

The main goals of U-Belong include empowering youth through educational opportunities, mentorship, and leadership development. The organization strives to build confidence and self-worth among young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Another key objective is to create pathways for skills development, promote employment readiness, and encourage active civic participation. At its core, U-Belong aims to foster a sense of community involvement and belonging in the lives of the youth it serves.

U-Belong's Programmes

To achieve these goals, U-Belong offers a range of programs and activities. These include life skills training, leadership and entrepreneurship workshops, and mental health awareness sessions. The organization also runs mentorship programs that connect young people with positive role models and professionals in various fields.

Through school-based initiatives, U-Belong supports learners in both academic and personal development. In addition to its educational focus, the organization engages in community outreach projects designed to uplift marginalized communities and promote social unity. It also organizes events and public awareness campaigns that address pressing social issues such as youth unemployment, gender-based violence, and substance abuse.

U-Belong frequently partners with schools, local governments, private companies, and other non-profit organizations to extend its impact and reach more communities.

U-Belong Learnerships 2025

The organisation has a  skills development section that promotes entrepreneurship through a 12-month learnership. The great thing about a Learnership is that the students will receive a monthly stipend (payment) while they are studying. They will be working at the organisation as well so that they will gain work experience and customer service skills. The Learnership is designed to give people the sales skills they will need to start their own businesses.

The Learnership that U-Belong uses is the Business Practise NQF Level 1 qualification which is controlled by the MICT SETA.

U-Belong Learnership Stipend

Not only do you study for free to gain a qualification when you are on a Learnership - you'll also be paid a stipend. A stipend is a cash payment that is made to the learners who are on the Learnership. This monthly payment is intended to go towards the costs of attending work on the Learnership.  The amount of the stipend depends on NQF level of the Learnership qualification.

The U-Belong Learnership is not available all round the year so its important to keep an eye on the U-Belong website and social channels to hear when they are calling for more candidates to apply.
