Learnerships are a proudly South African invention to help people, mainly young people, get practical training and a formal qualification in a wide range of skills. Apprenticeships have been around for decades but are only available in a limited number of jobs and professions. Learnerships were designed so they could be delivered for all types of jobs and skills.
