It might be that you fall into the category of students who hadn’t done well in the 2021 matric results, there’s another chance for you to take your shot.
The Department of Basic Education established the Second Chance Programme for individuals that want to improve their matric subjects, with classes taking place after hours and on weekends.
The Education Department has granted you to go back to the schools, to rewrite in May/June 2022.
Director of Second Chance Matric Programme, Dr. Sandy Malapile at the Department of Basic Education shared more information on a live Newzroom Afrika interview:
All the other groups of young people who are from 2020 going back, can register at the district office. They will get an opportunity to rewrite the matric when they register. We provide support on four platforms which are broadcasting, which is a provision of hard copy material as well as online plus the face-to-face classes that we are providing in selected places.
Post matric, technology companies such as AB4IR have entrepreneurial opportunities for the youth to be involved in gaming, animation, virtual reality, and drones.
CEO of the technology company AB4IR, Kelebogile Molopyane emphasized that one does not need to have high maths marks for their programmes, just passion, and an inquisitive mind for the digital space.
