How to Apply to Sol Plaatje University

SPU uses an online application system, and no application fee is required. To apply, follow these steps:

  1.     Visit the official SPU website and navigate to the applications page.
  2.     Click the link next to “Apply, register, change personal information, get academic and other information.”
  3.     Fill in your personal details and click ‘Save’.
  4.     Create your PIN – the system will generate a reference number that becomes your student number.
  5.     Navigate to ‘Application’, then select ‘View Application Rules’ and click ‘I Accept’.
  6.     Add your school history, subjects, and marks using the dropdown menus.
  7.     Upload all required documents, including:
  •         Certified copy of your ID or passport
  •         Certified school results or academic transcripts
  •         Proof of residence
  •         Study permit (for international applicants)

    8. Disclose any disabilities (if applicable) and click ‘Submit Application’.

    9. Choose your qualification, set Academic Preference = 1, and click ‘Save and Continue’.

    10. Update your contact details and Next of Kin information.

    11. Complete the address validation and finalise your submission.

Once submitted, you will receive confirmation via email or SMS. SPU will notify successful applicants with registration and orientation details.

Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Admission is based on academic merit and the availability of space in the programme.
