When Will Applications Open For 2024 Bursaries?
Applications for Funza Lushaka Bursaries for the 2024 academic year will open on 1 October 2023. Applications will then close on 12 January 2024.
What Does The Funza Lushaka Bursary Cover?
The Funza Lushaka bursary covers tuition fees, accommodation including meals, and learning materials. In addition, a monthly living allowance is provided for living expenses.
Do You Have To Pay Bank The Funza Lushaka Bursary
Funza Lushaka bursary recipients are not required to pay back the money they received as part of their funding. However, they will be required to teach one year in a public school for every year they have received the bursary.
Recipients of these bursaries will be required to teach at a public school for the same number of years that they received the bursary. No repayment of the bursary is therefore required.
The bursary recipient must be committed to teaching in any school where they may be placed by a Provincial Education Department.
