If you have aspirations of learning skills in engineering, manufacturing, construction, agriculture, etc, then you ought to start by doing your research on a qualification that is offered at a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

These are important skills to have as you are able to venture into entrepreneurship should you not get employment,  better yet create jobs for individuals with the same interests or skills.

If you plan on applying at a TVET college, you need the following:

  • Valid contact details, such as an email address and cellphone number.
  • Proof of Identification (South African ID or passport )
  • Copy of your latest results (transcript, matric statement of results or a school report)
  • Proof of school qualifications (National Senior Certificate/Senior Certificate, Diploma, etc)

You need to make sure that you submit all of these documents when submitting your application at the college of your choice.

It is advisable to use the correct contact details that the college can use to communicate with you regarding your application.

In the application form, it is also important that you indicate whether or not you are applying for a bursary, because this is the information that will be used by the Bursary Office to contact applicants further down the application process.
