The Limpopo College of Nursing is recruiting now for students who want to study next year. The health department has revealed what applicants need to do to ensure their application is considered for this 3 year diploma.

The Limpopo College of Nursing is set to welcome its fourth of student nurses under its three-year Diploma programme's new curriculum. The Diploma in General Nursing is an NQF Level 6 qualification programme regulated by R.171 of the South African Nursing Council. 
 

The programme, with a total of 364 credits, is conducted in English and takes place at four campuses in Giyani, Sovenga, Thohoyandou, and Sekhukhune.

Qualifying candidates are invited to apply to study towards a Diploma in Nursing at the Limpopo College of Nursing.
 

The closing date for applications is 30th November 2025.  

Diploma of Nursing Requirements 
 

To be eligible, applicants must hold a Senior Certificate with endorsement (Matric exemption) or a National Senior Certificate with a Bachelor's Degree Pass. 

They should have a minimum of 24 points on the rating scale, excluding Life-Orientation. Compulsory subjects include English, Biology/Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, or Maths Literacy at specified levels.

Applicants must be South African citizens residing in Limpopo Province.

Interested candidates should submit their applications by the closing date of 30th November 2025. Application forms can be downloaded from the college's website and must be submitted on the official application form. 

A non-refundable fee of R150 is required for application, and no cash payments will be accepted.

Selection and Bursary Agreement

Successful candidates will be contacted through their provided contact details and will be required to sign an agreement with the Limpopo Department of Health for a bursary allowance.

Upon completion of the programme, candidates will receive a diploma endorsed by a Higher Education Institution, serving as a Quality Assurer. This diploma allows for registration with the South African Nursing Council for General Nursing.

There are several other colleges that offer nursing courses.
