WesBank 12-Month Learnership Programme For Graduates Now Open

WesBank, a division of FirstRand Bank Limited, is inviting applications for its 12-month Learnership Programme available in 9 different locations nationwide. This opportunity is aimed at unemployed graduates who are looking to gain valuable workplace experience in the banking sector.

The programme is designed to equip young South Africans with practical skills while improving their employability through structured learning and hands-on experience.

About The WesBank Learnership Programme

This learnership provides participants with the opportunity to gain real workplace experience while completing a formal training programme. Learners will be involved in various operational functions within the organisation.

The programme also focuses on addressing economic, administrative and behavioural challenges that may impact career growth, while helping participants develop the skills needed to succeed in the workplace.

During the learnership, participants will be able to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical environment, gaining exposure to the banking and financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

Learners will support day-to-day operational functions within the business while gaining experience across different areas of the organisation.

This includes contributing to business processes, learning workplace systems and assisting with administrative and operational tasks.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the WesBank Learnership Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be between the ages of 18 and 34.

Be a South African citizen.

Be currently unemployed.

Not be studying at the time of application.

Have a Matric certificate and a post-matric qualification (graduate).

Have little or no formal work experience (less than 12 months total work experience, including part-time or casual work).

This opportunity must be the candidate’s first job experience.

Must not have previously participated in the FirstJob Programme or worked for FirstRand.

Have a good command of the English language.

Have no criminal record.

Not be blacklisted.

Be willing to complete a learnership while gaining workplace experience.

Stipend And Programme Details

Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R12 387 for the duration of the 12-month fixed-term learnership.

Applicants are required to complete all application steps, including submitting a voice note as part of the screening process. This is an important requirement and may impact the outcome of the application.
