TVET translates to Technical and Vocational Education and Training. The student receives education and training with a view towards a specific range of jobs, employment or entrepreneurial possibilities. The TVET website states, "Under certain conditions, some students may qualify for admission to a University of Technology to continue their studies at a higher level in the same field of study as they were studying at the TVET College."
Colleges operating under the term TVET are public colleges which benefits from state funds and subsidies. Students at TVET Colleges are eligible for funding from NSFAS if they meet the other requirements.

Northern Cape Rural TVET College
Northern Cape TVET College offers a variety of courses, both full-time and part-time. There are five campuses. They provide student support services such as career guidance, leadership development, sport, job placement, learnerships and counselling to all students at all campuses.

Northern Cape Urban TVET College aims to provide relevant and excellent education and training to their students. A variety of courses are offered at their three campuses. Learnerships are awarded to deserving students who show potential and a good work ethic. Student accommodation is available near the campuses. Student support services such as academic support, counselling, job placement and financial aid is made available to students at all campuses.
